About This Spot

Stepping into Mario’s Pizza at 159 S Reading Ave feels like uncovering a cherished secret in Boyertown. There’s a quiet humility to this spot, a place where the outside doesn’t quite prepare you for the warmth that unfolds inside. The pace here is unhurried, inviting you to sink into something authentic—a pause from the rush where simplicity and care come together.

The atmosphere hums with the subtle rhythm of familiar neighborhood chatter, punctuated by the soft clatter of plates and the faint aroma of dough baking. It’s clear this is a local haven where the focus is all about the food, but equally about the genuine connections that happen around it.

Mario’s shines through its thoughtfully crafted pizzas, where the crust strikes a delicate balance between lightness and crunch, making every bite a satisfying experience that’s both honest and comforting. It’s the kind of place where you don’t just show up for a meal but for the understated moments—the owner’s warm smile, the generosity that slips quietly into friendly service, and the little surprises that make you want to come back.

Don’t be swayed by first impressions of the space itself. Here, what matters isn’t the décor but the unmistakable feeling of discovery: a spot where quality, kindness, and genuine care are the main ingredients. Whether you’re sharing a slice with family or grabbing a quick bite after a long day, Mario’s invites you to savor something true to the heart of this community.

You're not here for the ambiance or the setting. You are here for truly outstanding Pizza. The crust is light and fluffy, with a great crunch. I don't even like plain pizza and I would eat two more slices.

Fabulous pizza mixed with kind service. The owner noticed that my son was eating my pizza slice (after my son said he wasn't hungry and did not want any - but it looked too good to resist). The owner came out and gave us a slice of plain cheese pizza. When we tried to pay, he refused. Such generosity was unexpected. What a great experience!

Best pizza in the area! Cash only here. Don't be fooled by the exterior. Could be updated but that's not why you come here.

We moved to Berks county 3 1/2 years ago and I’m so upset we just discovered this gem of a place! We have been looking for great pizza (and frankly, any good restaurants) since we moved here from Bucks with no luck. And finally, we have found THE pizza. It’s everything you want in a great pizza from the thin, crispy crust to the sauce to the generous delish toppings. My son was told about this place from some guy at a gas station and we took a chance and so glad we did! Seriously, there is no good pizza in Berks county except this place! The building and indoor atmosphere isn’t much but it’s the food that counts. Let me tell you.Take a chance!

This is truly a case of don't judge a book by it's cover. Upon entry I wasn't expecting much but boy did I get a surprise. The Pizza is excellent, the Cheese Steaks are to die for and the prices are unmatched anywhere. Not to forget that the owner is warm and inviting! You definitely have to go here and don't be discouraged by the design of the building itself!
